堅調な小売売上高を受け、米ドル急騰

17日に発表された米小売売上高は8月の速報値0.1％増に続き、先月は0.4％増となり、エコノミスト予想の0.3％増を上回った。その結果、米ドルは強含み、0.23％上昇して103.766で引け、11週間ぶりの高値を記録した。

さらに、米労働省が発表した統計によると、先週の新規失業保険申請件数は季節調整済みで24万1000件と、1万9000件減少した。しかし、大型ハリケーンやボーイング社での1ヶ月に及ぶストライキの影響が、労働市場の明確な現状把握を難しくしている。 

一方、ロンドン証券取引所グループ（LSEG）の予想によると、米金利先物はFRBが25bpの追加利下げに踏み切る可能性を92％、政策金利を4.75％～5％の目標域内に維持したまま一旦据え置く可能性を8％織り込んでいる。パウエルFRB総裁を含むFRB高官は、一部の市場参加者を驚かせた9月の予想以上の利下げを受けて、50bpの追加利下げの可能性を否定している。
